The sprung lever design allows the handle to be positioned and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been endurance-tested to 200 000 cycles. This helps to ensure that the quality of finish and performance will last for a long time. The lever that is sprung can be reduced to accommodate more locks. This is particularly useful for doors with narrower openings where the cylinder is further back from the door. A shortened lever can also be used on doors that have a latch that can be activated with the thumb located on the inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc functions differently from lever-type handles found on most doors. These handle types are either operated by one spindle, or two spindles, either inline or offset. They are commonly employed on UPVC doors with double glazing and come in a variety of finishes and variations.

The handles are available in various finishes, including White chrome and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to rust. This provides the handle with the best performance and durability to serve its intended purpose.

All of the UPVC lever pad styles for handles are supplied with screws and a spindle, allowing them to be installed on any new or existing uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixing centres permit a bigger size of handle which can be beneficial when replacing a faulty or worn multi point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of door handles sagging from their horizontal position when they are not being used.

When selecting a replacement UPVC handle and spindle it is essential to match the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC door. This measurement is often referred to as the 'handle centre' or 'cylinder centres which is a crucial aspect of matching up the appropriate handles.

After you have identified the correct PZ size, you will need to make sure that the lever and push pads are shaped to fit the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles you require for your door. They typically have rectangular or round in design with an internal lever as well as an external push pad.

The majority of UPVC lever pads we sell are sprung, meaning that they return to their horizontal position when they are not in use, rather than hanging out and possibly securing in the frame. This stops draughts from entering the home. The majority of UPVC lever pad handles come in both left and right handed models which allows them to be put on either side of the doors.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are usually used on uPVC doors, but can also be found on other types of doors. They operate with a key to unlock a cylinder case which is then revealed with pins that can be aligned with those inside the lock body, allow them to rotate the cam, thereby opening the door. Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. Doors that are internal and external require different levels of security.

The selection of a cylinder is vital. It's dependent on the amount of use your doors and handles receive. External doors, for example should be equipped with cylinders that are more secure and doors inside can be secured with a standard cylinder. In addition, some cylinders have extra features that increase security even more, like anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

A euro cylinder needs to be properly measured to ensure it is the right size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn if there is one. If you are unable measure it with the lock in position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon may be vulnerable to attacks such as snapping locks, so it is important that it is not too long.

Most newer cylinders have been designed with bump and anti-drill features that are built into their design. They are designed to decrease attacks by forcing cylinders to rotate in a new direction. This will help to deflect the attack and keep your doors safe.

Certain cylinders are constructed to withstand snapping. This is a growing type of attack on cylinders where the break line inside the lock is attacked with a special tool to snap off the front of the cylinder and allow the door handle replacement to open. This is a much faster and easier way to gain access than through a multipoint locking window handle system. It also leaves no evidence of the break-in which could hinder insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned in the base of your door handle backplate providing a sprung solution and returning the multipoint lock handles back to their original position after use. The handles were previously equipped with no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. This simple component is the most effective way to solve this issue. It also helps prevent your door from becoming stuck in either the closed or open position since they aren't easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with a spring multipoint locks. They are not compatible with handles that aren't sprung and you'll need to cut a hole in your backplate for them to fit. (Please check the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes are a replacement to broken or missing cassettes that are in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are available as a single unit. They have a square-cut out that is able to accommodate an 8mm shaft.
