The stroller also has an enormous storage area underneath the seat, as well as a shoulder strap that makes it easier to carry around when you're not pushing it. The canopy adjustment can be noisy which can disturb children who are asleep.

1. Contours Itsy

The Contours Itsy is a compact stroller with a lot of features for its size. The back under-seat basket is equipped with a spring-loaded mechanism, allowing you to push the basket down to store a backpack or diaper bag and then it will pop up to secure the contents. It comes with a child's accessory holder and an adjustable seat pad that reclines. This is more than what you find on a typical lightweight stroller.

It also comes with a canopy that can be closed and opened to ensure that you get the sun protection level you need. The handlebars can be adjusted in height to ensure a comfortable fit in four different positions. We weren't so impressed with its ride quality over rough terrain. We found that the suspension and wheels didn't do a good job of absorbing shocks and bumps.

The stroller is ideal for travel since it comes fully assembled in the box. It takes only just a few steps to make it ready for use. The seat can be moved forward and back to adjust the recline. It's quite flat. It's easy to fold and unfold due to two buttons on the frame. It can be tucked away in an extremely convenient bag for carrying when not in use. In fact, it's one of the most compact strollers we test, and it meets most airlines' requirements for gate-checking or cabin storage on planes. 2. Kolcraft Cloud Plus

This stroller is an excellent option for those looking for a lightweight travel stroller. It comes with everything parents would want in a stroller, including all-terrain wheels and front suspension to ensure a smooth ride. It's also very light, weighing less than 12 pounds. It folds with one hand and stands up on its own. It has two cups holders on each tray to accommodate the child and parent.

The quality, however, is a little at the lower end and it did not perform well in our maneuverability tests. It is a slender frame which makes pushing it over rough surfaces feel like lifting heavy weights. It might be okay if you use the stroller only on sidewalks that are paved. However, for most people it is not comfortable.

The Cloud Plus has a three-tier extended canopy and a peek-a-boo window to provide additional sun protection. Its multi-positional seat can accommodate children up 50 pounds and features a five-point safety restraint. This is an excellent feature for older toddlers who have outgrown infant car seats.

It is compact and folds up in a single umbrella stroller step. It is able to be collapsed by pressing the button. It also has a convenient brake that is triggered by the foot and easy to set and release.

However, the handle is a bit lower than other strollers we've tested, and some parents might find it uncomfortable for extended durations. It does have the ability to lock the handle to keep it in place when opened however. This is a good feature to have in case you are planning to use the stroller on uneven or gravelly terrain.

3. Munchkin Sparrow

The Munchkin Sparrow is the ultimate travel stroller for parents who are on the go. This ultra-compact stroller is easy to fold up and down, and fits easily in overhead compartments on planes and in trunks at the amusement park (no more worrying about parking charges). It comes with a convenient zip carrying bag that can be easily stored. It can be used with the infant car adapter right from birth and offers good sun protection by utilizing its canopy. The only drawback is that some parents consider the design to be utilitarian and cheap.

The BabyZen Yoyo+ is a bit more expensive than the other lightweight single strollers that connect strollers however, it was created specifically for luxe travel and urban living. It's among the smallest strollers to fold (and comes with a handy carry case), and it offers plenty of storage space, including a cup holder. The seat is comfortable for the adult and child, and reclines to a near-flat position. This is the only stroller on our list that can be used with a newborn with the car seat adapter. The handlebar is not adjustable, and may be a problem for some parents who are small.

The UPPAbaby Minu V2 may not be the lightest stroller, however it comes with a number of wonderful features that help children travel more easily. The spacious seat reclines to a flat position, and comes with extra padding that will make those naps on the plane last longer. The canopy extends to provide lots of sun coverage and the tray on the front provides plenty of storage. It also features a footrest with springs that doubles as a handle when folded. This footrest is prone to being damaged by baggage handlers.

4. Uppababy Mini V2

Uppababy Minu V2 is a stylish stroller with a top-quality design and high-end. Its compact design allows it to easily navigate through narrow streets and tight spaces and its robust construction allows it to handle rough terrain without compromising the comfort of your child. The spring-action suspension in the rear and front creates more comfort for your child, and its durable materials will stand up to the wear and tear of everyday use. Additionally it can be extended to accommodate other accessories such as baby car seat.

Even with a baby in the mix, the Minu was very easy to fold and maneuver. Its squat fold that splits into three parts, was one of the most simple we tried. This makes it possible to be easily tucked away in overhead compartments in planes and on public transport. It comes with a single jogging stroller-action color-coded brake that is simple to use.

The seat has a multi-position recline as well as a one-handed adjustable leg rest, making it easy to find the perfect position for your child. The UPF 50+ hood came down quite a ways and was perfect for protecting Cora's eyes from sun (though not as low as other strollers). There's also a medium-sized mesh peek-aboo window that closes magnetically and sticks to the canopy rather than using noisy Velcro.

At less than 15 pounds, the Minu is light enough to carry thanks to its built-in handle and shoulder strap. It can be stored in the trunk of your vehicle, and comes with a storage container and Uppababy TravelSafe, which extends the warranty of the manufacturer by two years and covers repairs if the item is damaged during travel.

5. Joovy Aire

Joovy is an established stroller brand that makes various models. This lightweight single stroller stroller is an excellent choice for parents who are looking for a sturdy stroller that can transport their children. It is easy to maneuver, comes with plenty of storage, and is easy to fold. This model is not suitable for those who want a double stroller or a car seat compatible model. It won't work with infant car seats, and your infants must be able to sit on their own before they can use the stroller from day one.

This stroller has some solid features and a price. It scored higher in our maneuverability test than other strollers with similar specifications. It's also a great choice for smooth surfaces. It has a large parent tray, canopy and plenty of storage. The handlebar is smaller than average and the front wheel suspension is more rigid, but it is still comfortable for adults.

If you have twins, or two children who are different ages you may consider a side-by-side stroller is the best way for them to travel in. Our favorite is the Joovy Twin Groove, which has a variety of features and a narrow footprint that fits in places that other side-by-side options can't.

It features reclining seats that are individually adjustable as well as a large canopy that has a peek-a-boo window and tons of storage. It's heavier than the other side-bysides but has a decent capacity to handle the majority of kids up to 50 pounds. It is possible to add an infant bassinet to the front of the stroller for newborns.

If you are looking for a more luxurious version of this stroller, the Caboose RS Sit and Stand Stroller is a great alternative. It has the same fantastic features as this model and can be fitted with a bassinet to allow you to bring your baby home from the hospital with style.
