Weight

If you're looking for a vehicle that can handle the tough terrain then you want one with large wheels. They will be able to handle cobbles, grass, and dirt tracks and provide the smoothest ride for any passenger. They're also ideal for jogging because they come with suspension and are simple to get up and down kerbs. The trade-off is that they are quite heavy to push.

Seating

The capacity for seating of 3 wheelers is impressive and there are a variety of different options to choose from. The carrycot that comes with it is perfect for newborns (which MFM reviewer Alice describes as a cozy and comfortable lay-flat bed that can be used both on and off the buggy). Older babies and toddlers will love the large and comfortable seat unit that has adjustable ventilation. It is important to note that the seats don't recline fully, but they can be lowered to the lowest setting that will still allow your child plenty of headroom and room to move around.

A sling seat made of fabric is also available, which has the advantage of being placed snugly within the frame, rather than over the top of the modular seat. This gives a lower centre of gravity as well as a perfect weight distribution. This makes it easier and lighter to push, especially over bumpy terrain or curbs. MFM reviewer Kath loved the way this kind of seat dealt with these obstacles.

In addition to a large shopping basket, this kind of buggy generally has quite useful features, such as an extendable 50+ UV hood, an easy to use brake pedal, and some games-changing visibility lights that come up from the handlebars and can be placed in front of the passengers to improve their safety when traversing difficult terrain.

Tyres

They can be difficult to maintain and require having their air pressure regularly topped up. These tyres are prone to punctures, and it is recommended to always carry an repair kit and spare inner tube with you when you're out and out and about.

PU tyres are found on more pushchairs than air-filled tyres, but they are still just as sturdy. You can recognise PU tires by their smooth appearance and soft, smooth feel. They also slide over flat and tidied surfaces.

It's usually possible to tell the difference between PU and air-filled tires by running your hands over them, if it feels hard then it's made of rubber, if it slides then it's a PU. You can also determine whether your buggy is equipped with PU tyres sliding them onto flat, clean surfaces. They should roll smoothly and fit snugly into wheel hubs.

Foam tyres can withstand the rough terrain associated with high-performance buggies. This can make your buggy less stable as the foam loses its springy nature.
